This workshop will cover how Saint Xavier University uses WebServices to enhance the University Web site with interactive Web applications outside of the R25 Web Viewer. Topics covered will include Web Services Challenge/Response Authentication, client-side (JavaScript) and server-side (ASP/VBScript) access and manipulation of Web Services XML data, generating RSS feeds from Web Services data, and other ways to use Web Services to serve R25 database information to the end user. |

Flash Based Mapping at USD (T,P)
This workshop will cover how the University of San Diego used R25 WebServices to enhance the University website. The USD "Campus Map" was recently reinvented as a Flash-based map. The University used R25 WebServices to display selected university events on the interactive map. Topics covered in this presentation will include using WebServices, XML, and JavaScript to display R25 event information in a Flash-based campus map -- specifically, how the XML schema was interpreted so that it could be populated with data dependent upon R25 data prep, and how R25 WebServices tools were used to retrieve that data and format it for the map application. |

X25: A Case Study (P,AS)
Suffolk University used X25 to develop data models for key decision points in the design and proposal of a new mixed use classroom building. This presentation will demonstrate the steps taken to build a model, including how they accounted for increasing enrollment and changes in physical space. This presentation will also explore the ways X25 improved the review and discussion process and how X25 helped to solidify important decisions including classroom size and number of new classrooms. They'll also touch on how X25 helped increase scheduling effectiveness in existing classrooms. |
