New Series25 Development (T,P,AS,ES)
The world of software development is full of new and exciting (at least to software developers!) ideas and techniques. Series25 developers have not been slow to embrace these new concepts and have been busy crafting new and radical scheduling solutions. This broad session will announce what's new and what's just around the corner. |
| Session 2 – 9:45 am - 10:45 am |
R25: An Introduction (P,AS,ES)
This session is designed for those users who are brand new to R25. You'll learn about R25 terminology, dataflow, workflow, and R25 anatomy. This will help you understand many of the concepts being discussed in other sessions. |
WebServices: An Introduction (T,P)
This broad session will introduce you to the concepts and architecture of R25 WebServices and how it will impact the future of R25. Without too much technical jargon, we'll introduce you to the basics and explain how WebServices can aid you in integrating all of the software tools you use on campus. The world is just coming to grips with "Web 2.0" and R25 is right there, ready to take advantage of the new and exciting possibilities. |
X25: Introduction and Progress Report (P,AS)
New and updated reports, measuring standard schedule block compliance, exporting X25 data to XML and beyond...a lot has happened to X25 in the past year. If you haven't seen the latest enhancements to X25 — or if you don't know what X25 is — join us for an in-depth tour of this amazing space analysis tool. This Session repeats Wednesday Session 3. |
Being the System Administrator (T)
Learn how to set up and maintain the R25 environment. Experienced users will assist you in understanding the challenges facing you before you "go live." Learn trouble-shooting strategies for user-reported errors and how to determine points of failure in the R25 environment. |
The Academic Cycle (P,AS)
The academic scheduling cycle can be simple or complex. In this workshop presenters will discuss the relationships among your SIS, R25, and Schedule25. In addition, they'll explain how they use these systems in the scheduling cycle from creating the class schedule to posting courses. |
| Session 3 – 11:00 am - 12:00 pm |
25Live: An Introduction (T,P,AS,ES)
This session will take you on a tour of the latest product to join the Series25 suite - 25Live. You'll see all of the functionality and potential of this powerful new tool, as well as see the direction the product will be moving in. This Session repeats Wednesday Session 1. |
WebServices: Advanced XSLT (T)
XSLT2 and XPath2 offer sophisticated data handling and processing constructs. Come see how to utilize this power when building complicated reports and other WebServices transformations.
DANGER: this session will be very technical, a working knowledge of XSLT and XPath will be assumed.
|
Space Modeling, Part One: Using R25, S25, and X25 in Concert (P,AS)
What is space data modeling? What makes a good model? How does X25 v3.0 address modeling? In this first of a two-part presentation, we'll cover the basic concepts of modeling, and we'll use a case study to show how you can use R25, S25, and X25 together to provide input to architects and space planners. |
R25-SIS Interfaces for End Users (AS)
While the SIS-R25 interface may be installed and run by your technical administrator, there are critical tables and configuration options that affect how classes move between the two systems. Learn about these tables and configuration choices and how to communicate your preferences with your technical administrator.
|
WebViewer Seat: How to Set up and Use (ES)
This session will teach you the basics for setting up and defining your WebViewer seat. You'll learn how to define user preferences, set favorites, and create searches so that the WebViewer displays the information your campus needs. |
| Session 4 – 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm |
25Live: Custom Calendaring (T,P)
Our latest product, 25Live, includes powerful and flexible publishing capabilities that allow you embed calendars directly onto your website(s). This session will show you the myriad of customized options, describe how to select data from 25Live to be included in a custom calendar, and will walk through the various publishing options. This Session repeats Tuesday Session 2. |
WebServices: General Reporting (T)
This technical session will describe the reporting infrastructure provided by R25 WebServices and the modifications that need to be made in R25, followed by a demo on creating a report. The session assumes some knowledge and/or exposure to XML, XSLT, HTML, and CSS. |
Space Modeling, Part Two: Seeing Through the Black Box (P,AS)
In this session, we'll illustrate the direction we're taking space modeling in X25, and we'll engage you in discussion about your "what if" modeling needs. |
Final Exam Scheduling (AS)
How do you manage your final exam scheduling in R25? Do you import your final exam schedule into R25, or simply black out your academic classrooms? How do you make sure two exams don't end up in the same place at the same time? Hear from an experienced user how they've conquered the final exam scheduling hurdle. |
WebViewer Seat: A Case Study (ES)
The role of the "WebViewer Seat" determines the event and space data that can be viewed by visitors to your WebViewer site. This workshop will discuss effective searches, security settings, user preferences, workflow and options to consider on the event request form. |
| Session 5 – 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm |
Q&A: 25Live (T,P,AS,ES)
You've seen the 25Live demonstration; you've heard how schools are using it, now take the opportunity to ask questions of product development staff and end users. This Session repeats Wednesday Session 2. |
Roundtable: X25 (P,AS)
Please join us for this informal conversation and Q&A between CollegeNET staff and X25 users. We'll explore how X25 is being used on your campus and what directions you'd like to see X25 move.
